Aoba was born in a lab in Midorima with his twin brother Sei as an experiment run by Toue. They were built specifically to have mind controlling powers thanks to research Tae did. They were connected by their hair at birth and their skin and hair were bleach white. Both of them died soon after being born but when Toue cut their hair to separate them Sei came back to life and Aoba stayed dead. Tae took Aoba because she felt guilty but then on the way home Aoba came back to life. Although Tae left him. Also his skin and hair gained color eventually for some reason (the lore of this game kinda makes no sense have you figured that out by now) He would hear voices and go to the beach to listen to them where he met Nine, his future adoptive father! So he and his wife Haruka adopt Aoba and bring him to Tae’s house where they lived (Tae is Haruka’s mother). Nine and Haruka then left for unexplained reasons but just cause they like to travel I guess. Also by then the island was turned into a resort called platinum jail and Aoba and Tae still live there just in a part of town that is like dying. Aoba also has nerves in his hair so it has to be long and he can only cut it without it hurting when it gets past his shoulder. So either way then at school Aoba gets bullied for his long hair and that's when he meets Koujaku who like protects him from his bullies and they are friends cool but then he moves away from the island. Aoba finds Ren and gets into Rhyme which leads into his sly blue years who I am going to write another page about so I’m skipping lot’s of events that happen then because this page is about Aoba. Either way this is also when his personality splits, the Aoba I’m talking about it “Reason” and is the reasonable part of him I guess and it in control most of the time. Sly blue or “Desire” had the ability to use scrap (Aoba's mind control power which is effective through his voice) and also played Rhyme and was extremely good at it, he would also gank people (see my page about Rhyme) and then the third and final part was Restraint which entered his allmate Rens body. He lives as Sly Blue for a few ish years (it’s not stated but that’s what it seems like) he is knocked out and wakes up back as Aoba. After that he started having terrible headaches which Tae has him take meds for, they don’t have readily available access to healthcare so his grandmother does all the meds and stuff but it’s probably good cause she’s the one who did all the research on creating Aoba. He also doesn’t know he can use scrap, only sly blue does that. He gets a job at hum drum junk and works there selling scrap parts. He accidentally mind controls people with his voice into buying junk parts and also by pretending he’s gonna get freaky with them and then evil mode not and just giving them whatever they ordered.
